Job Summary

The Associate Engineer – QA/QC supports the QA/QC team in ensuring all products, components, and processes meet quality standards and project specifications within the oil and gas industry. The role involves performing inspections, reviewing documentation, assisting with testing, and maintaining compliance with company quality procedures and international standards. This position provides an opportunity to develop technical skills and practical experience in quality assurance and control activities under the guidance of senior QA/QC engineers.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing inspections of incoming materials, in-process fabrication, and final assemblies to ensure adherence to specifications and drawings.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and quality records, ensuring proper filing and traceability.
  • Help coordinate and conduct basic tests and inspections, including dimensional checks, mechanical testing, and visual inspections, under supervision.
  • Assist in verifying material certificates, identification, and traceability as per project and company requirements.
  • Support NDT and welding inspections as per applicable standards, under the supervision of qualified engineers.
  • Ensure all inspection and testing activities comply with company QA/QC procedures, client requirements, and industry standards (e.g., ISO, API, ASME).
  • Record inspection results, material status, and NCR details in SAP (QM module) or other quality management systems accurately.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance knowledge of quality standards, inspection techniques, and QA/QC processes.
  • Work closely with senior QA/QC engineers, production teams, and subcontractors to support quality assurance activities and resolve issues.

QHSE Responsibilities

  • Comply with all QHSE standards, policies, and procedures relevant to your work.
  • Actively participate in QHSE meetings and complete all required safety inductions and trainings.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions; take corrective action where possible within your scope.
  • Follow guidance provided by QHSE officers and use PPE and emergency equipment correctly.
  • Support a safe work environment by cooperating with safety practices and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Refer to the OHSMS Manual, Section 4.4.1, for further clarification on individual QHSE responsibilities and accountability.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Metallurgical, or related Engineering discipline.

Certifications

Certification in NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent HSE qualification is required.

Experience

  • Minimum 0–3 years of experience in QA/QC, inspection, or quality control in the oil & gas, fabrication, or manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with ERP / SAP environment for HSE data recording and reporting is an advantage.
